Guided Wilderness Hunting
September is archery season, while rifle season opens in October. During these months, you’ll hear elk trumpeting all through the woods, sometimes at night and within bowshot of your tent. It is a haunting sound that you’ll dream about for weeks afterward. A sound that will draw you again and again to hunt the magnificent Rocky Mountain Elk of southern Wyoming.
Let us guide you on horseback through the rugged Huston Park Wilderness, to places where elk are abundant. This wilderness area is located in the pristine Sierra Madre Mountain Range of the Medicine Bow National Forest and offers over 48 square miles of excellent hunting terrain.
Enjoy the experience of camping in remote Wyoming forest in clean, 14×16-foot tents with five-foot walls, a wood stove, a relaxing cot with 4-inch-thick foam pad, and carpet on the floor. Hearty meals are prepared by our camp cook and served in a large dining tent, offering a perfect opportunity to socialize with the other hunters and to warm up and relax after a day of hunting.

4×4 Rifle Hunting
As an alternative to horseback riding, we also offer cow only elk hunts and elk hunts by 4×4-pickup.
Elk Hunt Dates
Wilderness rifle elk hunts are limited since we pack into camp on October 14th and pack out on October 20th. However, the dates for 4×4 elk rifle hunts, antelope and deer hunts, and elk bow hunts are far more flexible:
Elk bow hunting: whole month of September
Elk 4×4 rifle hunting: October 15-31
Guided Elk Hunts
If you’re putting in for a license, please let us know and we will try to accommodate your requested hunt dates. Hunt dates are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you have notified us early that you intend to put in for a license, you will be first in line for hunt dates.
Elk Only: $4,000
5 day + 2 day for wilderness pack in/stay at ranch in cabin. Meals included.
Archery Elk Hunt: $6,500
10 day wilderness pack in/stay at ranch in cabin. Meals included.
Cow Elk Only: $1,800
4 day 4×4 stay at ranch in cabin. Meals included.
Elk and Deer Combo: $5,500
5 days. Meals included.
Elk and Antelope Combo: $4,700
5 days. Meals included.
*Youth hunters on ALL HUNTS receive HALF-PRICE when accompanied by a paying adult.
To book a hunt
We require a 50% deposit and a signed contract. We will only formally book a hunt after you have been successful in the license draw. The balance is due when you arrive for your hunt.
Refund Policy
We cannot offer refunds (except under extreme circumstances) if you’re unable to make your scheduled hunt. Our refund policy is in accordance with license refunds offered by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
